Rouse

Terms of Use

Effective date: 22 September 2026

Back to Rouse policies

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Rouse iPhone app (“Rouse”, the “app”, “we”, “us”, or “I”), published by Bryan Mc Namara. By selecting “Agree and continue” in the app or by using Rouse after reviewing these Terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What Rouse does

Rouse lets you create local iPhone alarms and, where supported by iOS and AlarmKit, use local audio files as alarm sounds. The app does not provide a music catalogue, music licence, streaming service, download service, or sharing service.

Your audio and copyright responsibility

You must own the copyright in every audio file you import, or have all permissions, licences, and other rights needed to use it for your intended alarm.

You are solely responsible for the files you select, import, crop, play, or otherwise use with Rouse. This includes responsibility for copyright, neighbouring rights, performers’ rights, sound-recording rights, licences, royalties, privacy rights, and any terms imposed by the source from which you obtained the file.

Do not import or use recordings if doing so would infringe another person’s rights, violate a licence or service agreement, break the law, or expose us or another person to a claim. Rouse does not inspect, verify, license, or approve the rights associated with any file. Installing or using Rouse does not give you permission to use music or other copyrighted content.

Local operation and no upload

Rouse is designed to keep imported audio and alarm data on your iPhone. You must not represent that we host, distribute, endorse, or grant rights to content you use with the app. You remain responsible for backing up anything you choose to keep locally.

Prohibited use and complaints

You may not use Rouse to facilitate infringement, unlawful conduct, harassment, or unauthorized distribution of protected content. If you believe content associated with use of Rouse infringes your rights, contact seraphalaric@gmail.com with enough information for us to understand the concern. We may respond to complaints, request information, or take reasonable action within our control.

Purchases and offer codes

Rouse may offer a one-time lifetime purchase through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the transaction, restoration, refunds, and payment details under Apple’s applicable terms. Offer Codes may provide free or discounted access when configured in App Store Connect. A code does not transfer ownership of the app or any copyright in audio files.

System and alarm limitations

Rouse depends on iOS, AlarmKit, device permissions, system settings, available storage, and the behaviour of the device. Rouse delivery, timing, sound duration, looping, and playback may be affected by iOS updates, Focus or device settings, power state, permissions, or other conditions. You are responsible for checking that alarms work for your needs and should not rely on Rouse as the sole protection for an urgent, safety-critical, or time-critical obligation.

Availability and disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rouse is provided on an “as available” basis without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. We do not promise that every imported file or every alarm configuration will work on every device or iOS release.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, guarantees, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Irish or other applicable law.

Your responsibility for claims

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, costs, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful use of Rouse, or your import or use of audio for which you do not have the necessary rights. This does not require you to compensate us for matters caused by our own unlawful conduct, negligence, or rights that cannot be transferred under mandatory law.

Changes and termination

We may update these Terms when the app or its legal requirements change. The effective date above will change with a new version, and the app may require you to accept updated Terms before continuing. You may stop using Rouse and delete it at any time. We may stop supporting features or versions where permitted by law.

Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland, except where mandatory consumer-protection rules require otherwise. Any dispute will be handled by the courts with appropriate jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have.
