Rouse

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 22 September 2026

Back to Rouse policies

This Privacy Policy explains how Bryan Mc Namara (“we”, “us”, or “I”) handles information in the Rouse iPhone app (“Rouse” or the “app”). Rouse is designed as a local-first app. It does not require an account and does not operate a backend service.

Information stored on your iPhone

Rouse stores the information needed to provide its features in the app’s private storage on your iPhone. This can include alarm times, enabled states, schedules, playlists, imported audio files, audio crops, app settings, and local consent records.

Imported audio is copied into the app’s private container so the system can use it for an alarm. Rouse does not upload, publish, stream, or share those files with us.

Purchases

Rouse’s optional lifetime purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple may process purchase and transaction information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. Rouse uses the entitlement result supplied by Apple to unlock the purchased features.

Information sent to us

Rouse does not include analytics, advertising, behavioural tracking, cloud sync, user accounts, or a content-upload service. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in that message, such as your email address, device or app details, and the contents of your support request. We use that information to respond to you and maintain necessary support records.

Permissions

Rouse may request system permission to schedule and deliver alarms. You choose which audio files to make available to the app through the system file picker. You can revoke permissions or delete local content using iOS and the app’s controls.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell or share your local alarm schedules or audio files. Local information remains on your iPhone until you delete it, delete the app, or iOS removes it. Support emails are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support history, protect our rights, or comply with legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. To ask a privacy question or exercise a right, contact seraphalaric@gmail.com. You may also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland or another supervisory authority with jurisdiction over you.

Children

Rouse is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an online service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The effective date above will change with a new version. If an update materially affects the app’s privacy terms, the app may ask you to acknowledge the new policy before continuing.
